Access to smart strategy, strong talent, growth capital and customers is critical to enterprise growth. If you are born into privilege, chances are you benefit from networks that provide better opportunity to scale your business. Unfortunately, the networks for Black and Latinx entrepreneurs are less robust, thereby reducing access.
This combined with the inherent bias in the institutions and individuals providing capital and other tools, it is no wonder that entrepreneurs of color receive less than 2% of corporate and government procurement dollars and twice the loan denial rates at banks, and less than 1% of venture capital is invested with African American entrepreneurs.
At FBE, we are committed to a playing field that increases Black and Latinx access to the necessary tools for enterprise growth.
